[Route to Astorga]
[Cross on Camino outside Astorga]
[Pedestrian bridge over railway on outskirts of Astorga]
[Pilgrim statue outside Alburgue - Astorga]
Today we had a kind of play by ear day setting off from Villar de Mazarife and ending the walk soon after Hospital de Orbigo at Santibanez, or if we felt strong enough to make the whole journey to Astorga a big city a further 10 km down the route.
We decided to make for Astorga and ended up in a very large Alburgue at the top end of the city close to the Cathedral. We were told to go and get our beds in the dormitory on the second floor, which was the loft. When we got there only top bunks were available! We therefore prepared ourselves for a night of "Top bunk" living.
Buen Camino.
